Don't Make Me Look Like The Kids On TV

As I prepared to take a portrait of my little cousin, Fitsum, he jokingly said to me, "Don't Make Me Look Like The Kids On TV." Those words stuck with me for the rest of my stay in Ethiopia. They incited me to do something to fight against the single-story narrative the media has placed on Ethiopia and her people. I thought this book was just that. However, after completion, I realized that this was more of a personal journey through space and time in Ethiopia, the country I call home.

Don't Make Me Look Like the Kids On TV, self published 2018. Out of print.
